Mission Statement:  The  Mission of St. Malachy’s Memorial High School is to create an environment in which students excel academically and to provide a safe and supportive community which encourages growth and contribution to the larger community. Vision Statement: St. Malachy’s Memorial High School is committed to educating the whole person.  Through a rigorous and comprehensive program of studies we prepare students academically, socially and morally to assume their places as conscientious, involved and contributing members of society.

The STM Raffle, the school’s annual fundraiser is doing well….currently students have raised over $11,000.00.  Our goal is to raise $20,000.00.  Proceeds from the Raffle go to the school’s program of extra-curricular activities; drama, musical, athletics, guest performers…..all of these initiatives are supported by the Raffle.  The prize-winning ticket for $1,000.00 will be drawn on December 21st.  Tickets are $2.00 and a book of tickets costs $10.00. Tickets are available from any STM Saint.  Thank you for your support!

The STM Swim Team did well at the NBIAA Provincials.  Congratulations to: Emma Dauphinee 8th-200 Free, 4th-100 Free/Grace Bartlett-7th-100 Breast/Drake Lehman-2nd-50 Fly, 1st-50 Back, 2nd -100 Back, 2nd-50 Free/Robyn Hall-6th- 50 Free/Sylvie Deschenes 10th-50 Breast/Junior Girls Relay 4th-200 Free (Team-Callie Tracy, Megan Crawford, Alexa Connors, Emma Dauphinee)

The Grad Class Christmas Pot-Luck and Movie will take place December 17th.  The evening is always fun with lots of great food. After the potluck, watch the movie “Home Alone” in the auditorium.  

The annual STM Christmas Dinner will take place on Tuesday, December 18th. Tickets are $7.00…enjoy a delicious turkey dinner served to you by your teachers….a great way to celebrate the festive season! There will be a Coffee House on Tuesday evening; December 18th in the Learning Commons…all are welcome to attend.  A warm welcome back is extended to STM grads, home for the Holidays!  Drop by and enjoy wonderful music and see friends that you have not seen in a while.  If you like, bring along a musical instrument!  For further details, please contact Mr. Chris Stacey. The Center of Arts and Technology will have an information kiosk set-up in the main foyer during the noon hour December 19th.

On Wednesday, December 19th -period 4-auditorium-there will be an info session for Grade 12 students.  The info session will include thoughts from STM post grads, attending various  universities and colleges, regarding their first semester at post-secondary institutions.  Grade 12 students will be called to the auditorium for this presentation. There is a meeting on Thursday, December 20th-at noon in Mr. Gaudet’s room, for those students who are going on the trip to Scotland and Ireland in March of 2013.

The Exam Schedule will be distributed to all students on Tuesday of this week.  The Schedule will also be posted on our website.

Monday, December 17th, Regular Schedule  **SPR/Admin Meeting-8:00a.m. Rm. 232  **6:00p.m. Grad Class Potluck & Movie 

Tuesday, December 18th, Regular Schedule  **ESST Meeting-9:15a.m. Guidance Center  **Christmas Dinner-12 Noon Dismissal in order to make certain we are ready to return to afternoon classes at 1:20p.m.  **Coffee House-7:00p.m. Learning Commons-all are welcome to attend 

Wednesday, December 19th, Regular Schedule  **Center of Arts & Technology-Info Kiosk-Main Foyer-Noon Hours today.  ** Period 4 Info Session-All grade 12 students will be called to the auditorium for this Info Session.

Thursday, December 20th, Study Hall/Religion Schedule…schedule as follows: Period 1, Study Hall/Religion, 2,3 LUNCH 5,4.  Christian Fellowship students will meet in the Learning Commons 
and  Faith Formation students will be called to the auditorium.

Friday, December 21st, Period 1…The Christmas Assembly will begin at approximately 9:15a.m.-details to follow.  Whatever time the assembly is over, we’ll go directly to the corresponding period in a Regular Schedule…i.e. if the assembly is over at 11:00a.m. we will return to Period 2….we’ll divide the remaining time until 12:20p.m. into two periods …dismiss at 12:20p.m. The day will look as follows: Period 1-9:15a.m. Assembly, Period 2, Period 3- Lunch-12:20p.m.-1:20p.m.  Period 4, 5.

Thought for the week: Enthusiastic people are the ones who actually get things done in this 
world.  Enthusiasm is what turns any idea into reality.  And enthusiasm is linked closely with happiness.
